I love spending time with family and friends. I always have. But I must admit, it is usually at someone else's house and not at mine. Less stress, less mess. God has been putting on my heart lately to be the Host and NOT to grumble about it.
The bible says:
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.~ 1 Peter 4:9
So today..we had some family over for grilling. Here is my hubby..with LOTS of smoke :)
Here is my little 5 year old cousin Jordie. He LOVED the pool! It was 103 today...pool was nice and cool!
I am linking up with With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart....go look see
Oh, it is so true - to offer hospitality without grumbling. I get in quite a dither when people are coming over. I forget they are coming to see us - not my house. Fellowship is so important. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Cyn!
ReplyDeleteSweet that you followed the Lords leading and had folks over to enjoy your hospitality. Looks like it was really fun. 103 degrees ~ yikes! Jordie and the his doggie companion enjoyed visiting :)
Thank you so much for sharing at Think on These Things!

I can relate to your post, as I, too, sometimes don't want to invite others over for various reasons, but once we do have guests, I so enjoy it! The Lord desires for us to have fellowship with others and sometimes He wants us to host! Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteI can completely relate.
ReplyDeleteI love spending time with my loved ones, but way too often I find myself stressed when it is here at my home.
I too need to work on just letting go, enjoy the moment, and not let stress ruin the memory we are making.
Hugs,
Tam
