Snow in The Arizona Desert

It does not happen very often, and when it does people loose their minds!

Especially us natives!

I was born in Arizona and have lived here all my life. That is 40 years.

I have only seen snow in the city a few times. While Northern Arizona in the mountains gets snow all the time....us city folks don't.

I was leaving work last week and I knew the "weather" people said there was a chance for rain.

But..they said nothing of snow!

When I was leaving work at 4pm, this is what it looked like. These are really dark and heavy clouds filled with snow!

I got into my SUV, and I only have a 10 minute drive home. Within that time the snow was a falling.

I don't drive the freeways anymore, but this is what the one looked like right by my house!

They said people were stopping on the freeway and taking pics!

These are some mountains to the east of us. Very pretty!

This is a resort near my home called Talking Stick. It is also a casino.

Look at all that beauty.

I just LOVE when God gives us a little bit more of the beauty he created for us to enjoy.

 

We went to the zoo

I took Valentine's day off work and Hubby and I spent the day at The Wildlife World Zoo.

It is my favorite zoo in Arizona!

This is the baby giraffe. You can feed them pellets. Oh he is just adorable!!!

It was ALOT of good walking 4 hours for us to do the whole zoo.

Here is hubby by the shark tak..oh I was hiding. I know they are in a tank..but hello!

Here is me feeding he Lory birds. NOW I am not a bird person..they poop at will lol.

But this was sorta fun.

This was my absolute favorite pic!

My hubby has a way with animals. They just draw near him, and him near them.

I actually teared up!

This towel..darling. I have so many swap towels now I change them out all the time.

cloudy day and swollen eye

Good morning bloggers.

I know alot of you are there are bracing for a really bad winter snow storm.

Hope you are bundled up and warm.

This is what it is like here. This is looking out my backyard towards the East.

It is a little windy and a little chilly.

This is looking towards the West. No rain yet.

Isnt it just Beautiful. Days like this just make me smile.

I plan on sewing most of the day..which will be a challenge because

I have an allergy/cold in my right eye. 

So my eye is swollen and puffy and it hurts. So sewing will be slow today. I just have so many new tucks to get sewn up and put on my ETSY shop.

Maybe I need a pirate patch LOL

Hexagon tuck

Howdy bloggers, Hope everyone is having a good week.

The weather in Arizona is so nice right now!!

Sunshine, some clouds, sprinkles once in a while..I will take it.

Wanted to show you a tuck that I made.

It is handstitched with lil mini hexi's. Very fast and fun to make, This one is in my ETSY shop.

I am working on some spring ones. 

Plan on spending the evening curled up with hubby and the kitties.
