Two Week Staycation

Today is the last day of mine and hubby's 2 week staycation.

Oh and it has been so nice to NOT have a schedule.

Is this what retirement feels like???

The first week we took a few days and went to Norther Arizona.
To enjoy the smell of Ponderosa Pines and get out of the heat!

We stayed at a great cabin like resort.

They were cute modern cabins and they had a mini golf right in the middle.
This is hubby taking a shot!

Mine is the pink ball and this is where mine was most of the time. In the rough!

We did alot of driving around to explore and area of Arizona I had never been.

The mountains and trees and lakes were so wonderful!

Is it Fall where You Are?

All though where I live in Arizona, fall season doesn't come until much
later in the year,
I am wanting to decorate and pull out
every pumpkin  recipie that I can find.

let's just say that my Pinterest boards are filling up fast with
oodles of ideas!

This is one of my favorite fall items that I offer in my shop.
I love kitties and I love the pumpkin fabric.

I have been making some of these as well.
They will be going in a big bowl and hopefully my kitten Shelby will agree
that they are to stay in that bowl.
Ha Ha.

For us..the days are still hovering around 104 degrees.
But the mornings are starting out a bit cooler in the 70s.

How is fall coming along where you are?

August Busyness

Seems August has been a busy one for me.

Some great orders have been keeping my hands busy.
I have also been having some pain...
Dr thinks its carpel tunnel.

So off to a specialist I will go.

A while ago we got another kitty.
This is Shelby.

She is adorable...and a stinker...and loving...and active.
We sure love having her.

Hubby  and I went with our church family to Northern Arizona to a place
called Bearizona.
It was a blessing to get out of the heat and be where it was cool.

Our Etsy Team is also having a giveaway.
It is being held on Instagram.
10 things are being given away.
So if you have Instagram make sure you are following me for details.

It's been a While

Well hello there.

I took a short blogging break to work on some things for Etsy.

If you are still here....I am glad!

Summer is in full swing here in the desert of Arizona.

This is the time of year I want to stay inside as much as possible.

As an Arizona native I should be use to the 113 degree temps

day after day after day.

But the older I get...the more the heat bothers me.

I have not traveled this great nation as much as I should have,

So I have no clue what state I want to live in if I ever move.

Just don't want heat...and I want rain!

What about where you live??

Would that be a great place?

Oh tell me about it!!
I'd love to hear.

Old Memories

Our oldest son is 25 and our youngest is 21.

EEEKK!!!!

Man that did go fast. I am proud of both of them.

SO I have been lugging around a box of old memories.

The box holds oodles and oodles of all their stuff they did in school.

I new what I wanted to do with it but just had not done it.

So I have been spending the past few weeks going through their paperwork, winning ribbons, certificates and pictures.

I don't know how I am going to fit that many memories into a two 20 page albums.

BUT I AM.

It has been lots of tears and lots of Oh I remember that!

This is the one I am doing first. It is our oldest sons book.

Man...the memories over flood this momma's heart!

But I am thankful I saved so many things.
What a blessing these boys are for us!

Stanley Hotel

That is where I want to be sometimes.
Back on vacation in our little cabin.

While we were there we drive past the Stanley Hotel.

We didn't go in but now that I think of it we probably should have.

It really is pretty.
Alot smaller when you get right up to it.

Yet so beautiful.

I can imagine this in the snow.
There was very little on the ground where this place was.

But we enjoyed it just the same.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day for me is never a big production.

When our boys were little I always got the gift they made at school and I so loved those.

As they have got older.
They are usually working.
Or one is home and the other is working.

I always ask for the same thing every year.

A picture with them.

they grumble most years but this time they didn't.

It's nice to have older children.

I know as mommas we always say we have the best children.
We really do!

Damian on the left is our oldest.
Justin on the right is our youngest.
And this momma loves them to pieces!

Woods Canyon Lake Arizona

Someday I will talk more about this journey I am on.
But for now let's just say...

This trip to Woods Canyon Lake was a workout.

This lake is in Northern Arizona. It is beautiful.
I have never been there that I know of.
Unless I went as a kid and don't remember.

The goal for me at the lake was to dip my feet in the lake.
Ha!
As you can see there is still snow patches on the ground.

I tell you this..I did not expect that.
I always forget it is still cooler up north. 52 degrees!

Here is a selfie of hubby and I.
Our faces were cold, my hair was a mess, and we got in some wonderful views
and GREAT exercise.

I know this because today my thighs are feeling it!

Me and My Tree

Before we left our cabin in Colorado,
I had hubby take a picture of me in front of my most favorite tree.

The blue spruce.

It smells great, so soft and well just about perfect for me.

It was a cool 38 degrees when we were leaving.
Leaving back to the hot desert.

Isn't it wonderful how perfect God made that tree.
Nurturing it. Giving it sunshine to grow.
Giving it just the right amount.
Giving it water to grow little by little.

That is what he does with us.
By faith he changes us, little by little.
Sometimes it is a painful process.
Sometimes it isn't.

But He is always to faithful.

The Lord Provdes

Now that I am in my 40's. I tend to let my mind wonder a bit.

No not wonder around...that would be silly.

But wonder about different things that are happening to me.

Wondering will the bills be paid this month.
Will my body not ache tonight.
Will I ever loose this weight.

Seems like my grocery list of needs are growing as I get older,
But when I go to my Jesus in prayer,
I seem to leave the list behind and tend to just be humble and cry before the Lord.

He knows my needs, He knows my heart.
He made me.

I think sometimes putting down the list of needs and just spending humble time
feeling his presence is exactly what we need.

Just like this elk we seen in Colorado. His needs were met that day.
A warm place to rest.
Food for his belly.
And an abundance of sunshine.

But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:19

Rocky Mountain National Park 2016

Hubby surprised me with a quick trip to Estes Park, Colorado
for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary.

It was a 14 hour ish drive and I could not wait to get there
and see snow!

The Rocky Mountain National Park was so stunning in all its snow covered blanket.

Apparently this is a magpie and he wanted to follow my hubby around.

I have seen snow..but not this bright and this beautiful! And not falling on me.

The waters were clear and running where ever they wanted to.

We were chilly, all bundled in our NOT so winter clothes.
Remember we live in the desert. No need for jackets here.
I had to get some gloves and a hat in town because well it is swim suit season in Arizona.

Wait until you see where we stayed. Oh the cabin was darling..and the wildlife was a bound!

Stay tuned........

Time For The Lord

When my life gets all crazy.
When the enemy swoops in cause hey
I am a mess and I am an easy target.

I know what I have been lacking.

We have such busy lives now.
EveryTHING is pulling us in many different directions.

Are we leaving a huge whole in our prayer life?
I know that is the case with me.

When I don;t take the time everyday to spend with the one who created me.
It effects every single part of my life.

It is something we don't intentionally do.
It is not something we want to do.

Remember He created you.
Nothing in your life is a surprise to him.
He is there..waiting.

Kindness Matters

I have a pillow in my shop that I love.
I have the original one that I made sitting in
my craft room.

What does Kindness Matters mean?

It means when that stubborn hubby isn't helping as much as I think around the house,
I have to remember to treat him with kindness.

I means when someone at work is not
having a good week and snapping at you, I have to remember
to treat them with kindness.

When I call a place of business and am transferred around 5 times before
I can speak to the correct person,
it is not their fault I have to treat them with kindness.

When I am overwhelmed, and at the end of my rope,
I have to remember to treat myself with Kindness.

God's Timing

Reflecting today.
God's timing is just as important as being in God's will.

I say it all the time.
God I want only your will for me life.
Even as I type it I can feel it deep with in me.

But being in His will also means being okay with this timing.
That does not always sit well with me.

As a human when things are being unraveled right before our eyes,
and we see the blessings coming...
We have to remember..
they are not always poured out at once.
Matter of fact most of the time
they are not.
And if they are going along pretty quickly, I have to STOP and ask...
is this you Lord?
Or my hand pushing things along.

That is one of the great things about the Lord.
He always finishes what he has started in us.

So when I get anxious and want things done yesterday,
I have to remind myself
It is in His timing.

Salt River Wild Horses

Hubby and I decided Saturday afternoon to take a trip to the
Salt River here in Arizona.

It has been many years since we have been.
It is about 32 minutes from our home.

So we headed to gas up the Tahoe and hubby decided he couldn't see with all the
bugs on the windshield.
( mind you more bugs were coming after our trip LOL)

So off on Bush Highway we go. Traffic was not bad at all.
Thought it might be worse since its 80 degrees at 4pm
and lots of people at the lakes.

We were driving along side these Canyon walls to get to the river.
Where I live in Arizona it is desert.

BUT when we got there we realized we needed a "pass" to park.
The only way to get the pass was to drive back the 29 miles we came.

So we decided to try a lake instead. Same thing.

Funny lived here my whole life and never had to buy a pass..
Anywhoooooo

We had to turn down the entrance to Butcher Jones Lake.
A lake I grew up at and all off a sudden.

My hubby slammed on the breaks and both of our jaws dropped.

The Salt River Wild Horses. I have lived in Arizona my whole life and have never seen them.

They are so pretty. and so use to people. The government had tried to coral these horses and make them not wild anymore.
Until the Arizona people spoke up and said NO!
You have to do that to government. :)

Look at the baby one. Hubby had to park and get out.
I sat in the car in case we had to move since we didn't have a pass.

What started out as a trip to see a river we have seen many times in our lives,
changed and ended up seeing wild horses I only dreamed of seeing.

I hope to see these guys again...but if not..it was wonderful this time!

How Great Thou Art

I could list all the blessing the Lord has given to me,
but there would not be enough room in a million blog
posts to get them all down.

We serve and amazing God,
who loves us and provides all our needs.

Even the needs we did not know we needed.

He knows before we even ask.

Even in trials I give praise to Him.
All though it is a struggle at times to
know that I am in the palm of his hand.

Woke up singing this song this morning.

I don't know that I will ever fully understand
How Great He Is.

Lil Miss Maggie

Happy Tuesday Bloggers.
I wanted to show you a few pictures of our kitty Maggie.

She is such a blessing to us.

First please excuse my dirty windows. I swear they don't look this bad in person..goodness!!

We have a large patio and in the afternoon, if someone is out there, Maggie loves to sun bathe.
She has learned that even though the neighbors dogs bark,
they can't get to her.

Maggies also loves to sit by me while I blog and so social media.
The "heat" comes out right where her paw is and
she just soaks it up.

We sure do love having her around!
